Natalie WalkerMay 15, 2025 I can't recommend Ben highly enough! He was instrumental in helping me train for the 2024 Boise Trails Challenge and the Hot Taco bikepacking race (200 miles/20,000 vertical feet). Thanks to his coaching, I had my best finish yet in the Boise Trails Challenge and I met my time goal for the Hot Taco. I felt confident and prepared every step of the way, and I’m excited to see what happens this year. Ben brings an incredible mix of deep knowledge and real-world racing experience to his coaching. From structured training plans tailored to my specific goals, to bike fitting, strength training advice, race strategy, and mental preparation, he covered it all. He was always available for check-ins and questions, and quick to adapt the plan if life threw curveballs. If you want to find out what you’re capable of —whether you're a seasoned racer, just starting, or a recreational middle-aged athlete like me (I’m 56), Ben is the coach you want in your corner. Thank you, Ben, for helping me achieve more than I thought was possible! Bree Rowder GivensMay 14, 2025 I’ve been working with Ben for the past two years, and the growth I’ve experienced as a cyclist has been incredible. This was surprising considering I'm in the masters age group. During that time, I’ve seen success in both cross-country and enduro racing, and I credit a huge part of that to Ben’s smart, personalized coaching. One of the most significant things I’ve learned from him is how not to overtrain. Ben helped me understand the importance of recovery, zone 2 training, and how to structure my efforts for long-term gains. He also helped me dial in weight training in a way that complements cycling. Ben’s guidance on how to taper properly before races helped me show up rested, focused, and at my best. Ben uses TrainingPeaks, which makes everything really easy to follow and stay consistent. Whether you're racing or just trying to improve your fitness on the bike, I can't recommend Ben enough. He’s knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your progress. EverardoMarch 24, 2025 If you’re looking for an exceptional bike fitter, Ben is the one to go to! Not only did he help me perfect my fit, but he also took the time to educate me on every aspect of the process and how each adjustment impacts comfort, performance, and overall riding efficiency. His attention to detail is incredible – he truly went above and beyond to ensure that every tweak was precise and tailored to my unique needs. I’ve struggled with back pain while riding for the last two years, and after just a few rides with my new fit, the difference has been nothing short of amazing. The discomfort is noticeably reduced, and I feel much more balanced and powerful on the bike. Ben’s deep knowledge and genuine passion for what he does really shine through, and it’s clear that he takes pride in helping cyclists ride pain-free and at their best. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or new to cycling, I can’t recommend Ben enough for bike fitting or coaching. He’s a true professional who’s committed to getting you dialed in and riding at your full potential! Thomas RodriguezFebruary 23, 2025 Ben's bike fitting was very educational, professional, and beneficial. From the moment I came in, he was honest and able to help me make a better and more informed decision. He answered every question I had with knowledge and experience one can only gain from doing something you're passionate about. The fitting and conversation were both fun, and he has a way of being very precise without being condescending or inauthentic. I never felt like he was trying to upsell me or tell me I needed something without actually needing it. If you are unsure about getting a fitting or working with Ben, let me tell you, it was worth it and my riding has gotten less painful and it was night and day the differences he helped make. Meradith DollaghanNovember 3, 2024 I had an incredible experience working with Ben at On The Bike endurance coaching. Ben prepared me thoroughly for my goal race. His training sessions were thoughtfully planned a month in advance, so I never had to worry about my next steps. Ben’s communication was always timely and he could adjust my plan on the fly whenever necessary. His knowledge of endurance coaching is extensive and thanks to his guidance, I reached my peak cardio fitness and felt fully confident on race day. Highly recommend him for anyone looking to elevate their performance! Jeff TOctober 30, 2024 I have used Ben for my last two bike fits. I have been very happy with the results. I typically ride 120-150 miles a week outdoors, so the fit and comfort are important. I have recommended him to many family and friends. My wife and dad have also been very happy with his services. Ben's knowledge and experience are unmatched in the valley, he takes the time to get to know you and your riding style to get the fit you need. Whether you are just starting out or an experienced rider, a good bike fit is critical. Harrison DouglassAugust 21, 2024 I have worked with Ben the last two years. The first year to train for the Tahoe Trail 100km. The second year to train for the High Cascade 100. If you don't know what to expect when working with a coach, maybe this review will help. I'm a strong rider; but before working with Ben, I don't think I was a strong enough rider to finish either race. The first year, I had Ben write me a basic plan (~16 weeks worth of workouts). I met with Ben, and we discussed my goals and weaknesses, as well as my time constraints. Workouts were prescribed in Training Peaks, and synced to my Garmin. Workouts could be completed on a computrainer, or outside. I didn't have a power meter on my bike that first year... just a heart-rate monitor, and a computrainer (and, I think that's enough). Mostly, the workouts prescribed time, and a focus for the ride (example, 3 hr ride endurance pace; or, 1 hr of prescribed intervals). He also set some basic gym work, which I had really neglected as part of my training in the past. Having the basic plan was super helpful, and I achieved my goals at the Tahoe Trail 100km. That said, with the basic plan, he writes the plan and then you do what you can to follow it... but there's only minimal interaction throughout the training. So, if your schedule changes, or you get sick, you just have to manage that on your own as best as you can. The following year, I decided that I wanted to pay for his full training package. It was everything that I experienced the first year, and much more. In addition to the training plan, he paid for a full Training Peaks subscription and Virtual Gym membership. The Virtual Gym app was awesome, because Ben (through the app) would tell me exaclty what workouts to do, down to the rep count and weight. This was on top of the cycling workouts that he set through Training Peaks, which all had a very specific purpose. He recomended "training" races for me to do leading up to the High Cascades 100, and he was at a couple of those races (racing himself, as well as coordinating with a few other athletes/teams he coaches). With that full package, I could text/call/meet with Ben as often as I needed. Which meant that when I was traveling for work, or if I got sick, I'd just message him and he'd resond "we'll work through it; I'll adjust the plan." It took all the guess-work out of training. I just needed to schedule it into my calendar, show up, and do what he told me to. All of this, in addition to bike fitting session and threshold testing in his lab at George's. Like all of you reading this, I'm super busy (stressful job, 3 kids, committments at church, etc.). I just didn't have the time or mental bandwidth needed to write my own training plan. And, if I did write my own plan (which I have attempted in the past), it would be a sorry substitute for what Ben brings to the table. He's studied and experienced. At first, it felt like a lot of money. But now I know why. You get what you pay for, and get an awesome Coach with Ben. Highly recommend. Mindy SciariniAugust 8, 2024 On the Bike Endurance offers a one-stop shop for all cycling performance needs, from coaching to bike fitting and performance testing. Ben crafted a personalized training program tailored to my goals that was both challenging but sustainable. His plan took all the guesswork out of progressive training and allowed me to focus solely on putting in the necessary work. I experienced improvements in fitness and strength throughout the season, and with fun rides sprinkled in, I never experienced the dreaded burnout that has accompanied structured training in the past. As someone with a history of injuries, long rides often led to serious discomfort on the bike. But Ben's detail oriented fitting process and exercise physiology background led to a setup—complete with custom footbeds—that drastically enhanced my comfort on the bike. Thanks, Ben! Michelle ByersJuly 28, 2024 Ben has done two bike fits for me in the past year. He actively listens to his clients’ needs and incorporates their preferences with his technical expertise to achieve the best bike fit possible. I would definitely recommend Ben to other cyclists for their bike fit needs.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 13 reviewsVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
